08/20/10 - Oh, the joys of working in a commodity-driven product.  Over the past 3 months, we’ve seen a 30% jump in the price of green coffee, mostly run up by speculators and fund managers.  This has brought coffee prices up to a 13 year high.  There seems to be some dispute as to whether this is a short term run up or a long-term sustainable pricing level.

07/13/10 - It may be the 13th of July, but I am feeling pretty lucky to have landed a wonderful coffee for this month's Special Roast!

This month's Special Roast is a washed Ethiopian Amaro Gayo.  Here's a little bit about this exceptional coffee:

6/16/10 - We just received our first shipment of our new Travel Mug.  This mug has an acrylic outer shell and a stainless inner liner to keep your coffee fresh tasting for those long drives to work or play.

The new mug is charcoal color and features the Kinetic Cog logo in silver.  You can find it here!

5/26/10 - For all you Humboldt County diehards, this weekend is the 42nd Annual Kinetic Grand Championship.  If you haven't seen this amazing event, you owe it to yourself to add this to your Bucket List of things to do.  42 miles over 3 days on human powered vehicles ridden over road, sand, mud, and water while being judged on speed, art, engineering and pagentry.  I will be acting as an Engineering Judge for the event, getting up close and personal with every one of these incredible vehicles, starting a

5/7/10 -  The Sea Otter Classic was once again a great event for us!  Taking place in scenic Monterey, CA at the Laguna Seca (Oops, Mazda Laguna Seca) Raceway, it attracted more than 35,000 cycling fanatics of all stripes.  There was something for everyone - road races, mountain bike races, road gran fondos, mountina bike tours, BMX and trials - if it had anything to do with cycling, it was there.  If you're a bike rider, this event must be on your bucket list, trust me...

4/20/10 - Kinetic Koffee just finished a very successful Sea Otter Classic over the last weekend.  Wonderful weather, lots of happy cyclists, and much coffee made for a fantastic event.  We sampled 5 of our coffees and sold out of many of them. 

4/12/10 - Canoecopia was an incredible time!  We sold quite a bit of coffee and re-connected with many old friends.  I've been coming to Madison, WI for the past 9 years and have always enjoyed that Midwest hospitality!  Thanks, Darren and Sasha, for everything!

3/5/10 - Wow!  That last month flew by so fast I hardly had a chance to breathe!  And this month is promising to be more of the same.

Next week, I fly to Madison, WI for our fifth Canoecopia event.  I really look forward to this show every year because the people are just so darn friendly (I hope it's not just the coffee...) and it's a great chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones.  If you're attending, please stop bby our booth and say Hi!

2/1/10 - Hard to believe that it was February 2005 that we first took possession of our spanking new Deidrich roaster!  To celebrate this milestone, we have selected a truly special coffee for this month's Special Roast from Costa Rica.
